Jazz lost, Earl Watson bleeds ear and Danny Granger unstoppable | Utah Jazz vs Indiana Pacers Game Results

in Highlights, NBA Season
I just don’t know what to say when I saw Danny Granger dominates the third and fourth quarter and taking Indiana Pacers to win the game 122-106. It’s just like a superhero came down to the arena and save the day for the Pacers. I’m still in shock, and taking my time tonight to think what went wrong.
I ate my words when I already said that the Jazz will defeat Indiana Pacers, no doubt that I will give credit to Danny Granger for doing so. It’s not everyday that a man steps up and take away a team effort.
Utah Jazz leads the 2nd half, but Indiana Pacers took the rest of the final half.
I can’t really say what when wrong but here’s what I think.
Memo fires 3-points every now, Utah Jazz leads 45-50 with 7:03 of the second quarter
Great assist by D-Will to Carlos Boozer to lead Jazz 54-45 at 3:16 in the third quarter.
Memo successfully leads the Jazz after a 3-point shot 9:37 in the 3rd quarter giving the lead for the Jazz with 76-68.
This is the bottleneck of the game, Indiana Pacers cuts the lead 83-81 1:25 minutes of the third quarter.
Roy Hibber connects with a fou-counted in the paint by a funny lay-up.
Danny Granger fire fueled that he didn’t miss important shots taking the Pacers to lead 90-83.
We lost AK-47 walking away unbalanced to to the bench at the later quarter.
Earl Watson got whacked by D-Will’s Elbow
Danny Granger wins the game for the Pacers with 44 points, 5 assists and 8 rebounds.
Now let’s check this per quarter scores statistics:
Game Final Scores
| UTA (47-26) | 29 | 32 | 22 | 23 | 106 |
| IND (27-46) | 28 | 26 | 33 | 35 | 122 |
Player Stats for Utah Jazz
Andrei Kirilenko (F) – 4 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assist
Carlos Boozer (F) – 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
Mehmeh Okur (C) – 27 points, 12 rebounds and 1 assists
Wesley Matthews (G) – 11 points, 4 assists and 4 rebounds
Deron Williams (G) – 21 points, 12 assists and 6 rebounds
Now, let’s analyze according to stats Andrei Kirilenko played 22:53 minutes. Inasmuch as I love to see AK play, I think this is too much for a returning injured player. I don’t know about Coach Jerry Sloan’s thinking during the game, but this is too much for me. He played 22 minutes and connects only with 4 points which could have given more to other players that were great when Andrei Kirilenko was missing in action.
Usual scores for the starters are good so far, now let’s check the reserves.
CJ Miles with 7 points, he did play for 22 minutes but I think he couldn’t keep up the pressure during the later part of the game. Paul Millsap didn’t contribute much as well with only 6 points, Kyle Korver with only 5 and Sundiata Gaines with 3 points. This is not our usual Utah Jazz player game scores which is evenly contributed to all players. I wonder why Coach Jerry Sloan pushed the starters till the end whereas the Jazz is doing good with everybody playing and having fun.
Player stats for Indiana Pacers:
Danny Granger (F) – 44 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
Troy Murphy (F) – 17 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist
Roy Hibbert (C)– 14 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists
Brandon Rush (G)– 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
Earl Watson (G)– 4 points and 6 assists
Only 3 reserves for Indiana Pacers to play with good contribution so far. Mike Dunleavy scored 6 points; Josh McRoberts scored 11 points and AJ Price with 12 points. I just don’t get it why Utah Jazz couldn’t stop Danny Granger making those 3-point shots and the Jazz defense was so open.
Tonight Utah Jazz will be facing Washington Wizards, and I wish to see the usual Utah Jazz where all players enjoy and play as one team.

Trying to take away the pace off the Pacers

Day 2 of Utah Jazz (47-25) 3-day road trip will be facing Indiana Pacers (26-46), our Jazz securing their place in the playoffs while Deron Williams trying to hold his team together. One of the good things when you see a Jazz reeling in for the tune of a good basketball match I’m sure not only a Jazz fan would notice how graceful and exciting when almost every player of the team plays on the floor.
First off, I wanted to start with the bench players. CJ Miles’ game play is starting to mature very well, I always wanted for him to step up. CJ Miles, along with Paul Millsap and Wesley Matthews have helped the team greatly as Deron Williams pushed himself every game in spite of having multiple injuries.
Andrei Kirilenko missing important games that could have equaled Utah Jazz team standings with LA Lakers, Orlando Magic, or Cleveland Cavaliers.
Deron Williams superb passing that put him to the top of the League Leader in Assist not only shows his ability to play well with his team mates but also his keen eyes to see a hole in the opponent’s defense. Mehmet Okur not only standing tall in the paint, can shoot from the arc as well. Every player, starters or bench guys can give you one hell of a game if you keep your guard low. Don’t forget Kyle Korver whose shooting is getting better too.
With the recent awakening after Utah Jazz beaten Boston Celtics, I’m sure Utah Jazz will win against Indiana Pacers. Indiana Pacers have lost to Utah Jazz 4 times straight since December 4, no prediction needed.
Utah Wins | New Orleans Hornets vs Utah Jazz match

Does this guy look injured to you?
Utah Jazz manage to win against New Orleans even with having only two starters in the game since Andrei Kirilenko still can’t play because of his injury (left calf) now Mehmet Okur joins AK to rest with “stomach ailment”. But one thing you will love about Jazz is that the subs are making up for it and giving you a great game to watch.
I’ll first mention CJ Miles, he’s been great even when he helped to hold off Phoenix Suns soaring leads the other day. Tonight he socred 19 points, got 2 steals, and had 4 assists.
Carlos Boozer didn’t work out much, I guess Coach Jerry Sloan wanted him not to exert himself too much. He pushed hard last time also in during the match against Phoenix Suns, he contributed only 10 points, 1 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal.
Kyrylo Fesenko did a pretty good job tonight to sub AK, he’s been good in the paint and he boards 8 rebounds and he contributed 11 points.
Wesley Matthews, well he’s so-so tonight with 12 points, 1 steal, 2 assists and 2 rebounds. Actually, I’m expecting him to do more tonight. I didn’t see his great game with the Suns‘ game.
Paul Millsap, like Matthews he didn’t do well against the Phoenix Suns. I was expecting him too against the Suns but make it up tonight’s game against New Orleans Hornets with amazing 22 points, 15 rebounds, 1 assists and 3 steals.
EnergySolutions Arena was filled with 18,766 crowd which is pretty much the same in US Airways Arena (Phoenix Suns Home Court).
You gotta love Deron Williams tonight, even though he’s dealing with his shoulder, ankle and wrist injuries he manage to play and still scored 17 points, and 11 great assist. I just love this guy, not only he’s a good scorer but also a good team player as well. That’s why Deron Williams is the top three League Leader for Assists.
The Hornets lowered their team stand after the match (33-38) while Utah Jazz increased (45-25).
Utah Jazz shot percentage was excellent at 73.7% and the scored more in the paint. But like Jazz against the Suns, the Hornets are missing star guard Chris Paul and might not able to make it to playoffs. Chris Paul missed 25 games already because if left knee injury.
I hope Utah Jazz wins in the upcoming games, next match will be Boston Celtics vs. Utah Jazz on March 22, 2010.
Utah Jazz vs. Phoenix Suns – Friday – March 19, 2010

“Banged up”
This is what the Phoenix Suns’ thoughts on our Utah Jazz, no doubt that the Phoenix Suns are pushing really hard to improve their Western Conference Team Standings.
Phoenix Suns (42-26) Top 2 seed in the Western Conference | Pacific Division recently faced the dying Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA 2010 Regular Season; it was very ironic for the Timberwolves to face Utah Jazz with (44-24) team standing which is also Top 2 seed in the Western Conference | Northwest Division after they were beaten by the Suns.
The odds are against our Jazz, I can’t deny this. First, home court advantage as the Phoenix Suns will be hosting the game. Second, a lot of Jazz Players are still injured. Andrei Kirilenko still not recovering 100% from his injury, and I read from news that I still can’t believe that Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews will not be able to play later.
It was reported that Deron Williams suffering from a bruised shoulder and sprained ankle because he pushed himself too much to defeat Minnesota Timberwolves.
Phoenix Suns averaging above 100 points per game and holding a stiff foundation in their home town 117.8. The game tonight will be brutal and very physical, I know this well because Utah Jazz beat Phoenix Suns last March 4, 116-108. This game is their chance for revenge.
I wanna see AK play tonight against the Timberwolves

Game Preview : Minnesota Timberwolves vs Utah Jazz March 17, 2010
We all know Andrei Kirilenko is still injured, and I’ve been looking everywhere for info if he’ll be able to play against the Timberwolves tonight. Who wouldn’t miss AK?
AK have been one of the powerhouse in the paint, and I hope to see him play tonight as the Timberwolves will be a good practice from him. And who wouldn’t agree with me that the just will win tonight.

Minnesota Timberwolves’ team standing is horrible this season (14-54), considering they will be playing against our Jazz on our home court (EnergySolutions Arena Salt Lake City, Utah). I’m expecting already for the Utah Jazz’s team standing (43-24) will move asap to (44-24) this NBA Season 2010. The Jazz already made it a goal to get a cool spot for the Western Conference. I’ve already predicted this that Minnesota Timberwolves will lose to Phoenix Suns yesterday March 16, 2010. Phoenix Suns dominated the game 152 – 114 to beat Minnesota Timberwolves who is on a road trip for quite some time now.
Minnesota Timberwolves won’t be returning home after they play against our Jazz tonight and Timberwolves will be playing against LA Lakers in their home court as well. Minnesota Timberwolves will be at home playing against Toronto Raptors on March 22, 2010.
The Fight for seed – Utah Jazz vs Oklahoma Thunder March 14, 2010

in Highlights, NBA Season

We hope Andrei Kirilenko can play tonight
Tonight, at Ford Center “home court of Oklahoma City Thunder” Utah Jazz will be in a tough situation. It’s like matching up against your doppelganger.
Oklahoma Thunder’s team standing : 40 – 24
Utah Jazz’s team standing : 42 – 23
The Jazz might have been doing good recently away from home, but with the recent loss from the Milwaukee Bucks showing that the Jazz’s lack of tight defense. Tonight, both teams will be battling for the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
Now it’s a Battle for five for the Thunders as the Jazz already loss their chance. I hope our guys will be okay tonight, last match against the Bucks, Andrei Kirilenko left the game with strained left calf and Deron Williams unable to contribute well against the Bucks because of left shoulder injury.
The problem is that the Jazz twice against the Jazz this season, just this recent meeting Dec. 31, same place Ford Center the Jazz lost 87-86 in favor of Oklahoma Thunder.
I can’t wait for tonights game…
Players to start for the Oklahoma Thunder are:
Jeff Green(F), Kevin Durant(F), Nenad Krstic (C), Thabo Sefolosha (G), Russel Westbrook (G)
Battle for five – Utah Jazz vs Milwaukee Bucks March 12, 2010
by jazzer on March 12, 2010
in Highlights, NBA Season

Utah Jazz and Milwaukee Bucks, each them has four winning streaks and the Jazz lost the battle. I mentioned in my last post that the Jazz needs to tighten their defense and in the match against the Milwaukee Bucks it shows. First half, the Bucks had their leads with 25-22 in the first quarter and 23-18 in the second quarter.
Jon Salmons firing away giving the bucks the edge with 24 points, and out of nowhere rookie Brandon Jennings scored 23 points. Andrew Bogut offering good offense and defense with 16 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots.
Milwaukee Bucks now holds the fifth place in the Eastern Conference and won their fifth winning streak.
The Jazz are a little short-handed on the other side as Andre Kirilenko left the game with injury in his left hamstring.
After the first half, this is what makes the Jazz inconsistent. Either they start slow and ended the game with progress or they start fast and ended the game with little progress. However, in this game they started slow and struggled in the end.
The Jazz and the Bucks ties in scoring in 3rd and 4th quarter, 23-23 and 24-24 leaving the Bucks lead n the first half.
John Salmons contributed big for the Bucks as his offense and defense pressured the Jazz. Carlos Boozer who tried to get fouled-counted game has the darker side of the idea. Our man Boozer got 2 technical fouls and was ejected.
The Bucks backcourt defense what makes the Bucks’ opponents not to score more than 80-90 points. For a quick info about this, Milwaukee Bucks didn’t allow their opponents score more than 80-90 points which means they have tight defense to pressure opponents.
AK scored only 3 points…
Milwaukee Bucks wins fifth straight win whereas Utah Jazz stopped at four winning streak, final score 95-87 in favor of Milwaukee Bucks.
Carlos Boozer and Mehmeh Okur contributed well like usual but Deron Williams… why oh why D-Will?! I don’t know what happen to him contributing only 6 points ?!

Utah Jazz – 87
Andrei Kirilenko – 3 pts (Injury)
