Utah Wins | New Orleans Hornets vs Utah Jazz match

Does this guy look injured to you?
Utah Jazz manage to win against New Orleans even with having only two starters in the game since Andrei Kirilenko still can’t play because of his injury (left calf) now Mehmet Okur joins AK to rest with “stomach ailment”. But one thing you will love about Jazz is that the subs are making up for it and giving you a great game to watch.
I’ll first mention CJ Miles, he’s been great even when he helped to hold off Phoenix Suns soaring leads the other day. Tonight he socred 19 points, got 2 steals, and had 4 assists.
Carlos Boozer didn’t work out much, I guess Coach Jerry Sloan wanted him not to exert himself too much. He pushed hard last time also in during the match against Phoenix Suns, he contributed only 10 points, 1 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal.
Kyrylo Fesenko did a pretty good job tonight to sub AK, he’s been good in the paint and he boards 8 rebounds and he contributed 11 points.
Wesley Matthews, well he’s so-so tonight with 12 points, 1 steal, 2 assists and 2 rebounds. Actually, I’m expecting him to do more tonight. I didn’t see his great game with the Suns‘ game.
Paul Millsap, like Matthews he didn’t do well against the Phoenix Suns. I was expecting him too against the Suns but make it up tonight’s game against New Orleans Hornets with amazing 22 points, 15 rebounds, 1 assists and 3 steals.
EnergySolutions Arena was filled with 18,766 crowd which is pretty much the same in US Airways Arena (Phoenix Suns Home Court).
You gotta love Deron Williams tonight, even though he’s dealing with his shoulder, ankle and wrist injuries he manage to play and still scored 17 points, and 11 great assist. I just love this guy, not only he’s a good scorer but also a good team player as well. That’s why Deron Williams is the top three League Leader for Assists.
The Hornets lowered their team stand after the match (33-38) while Utah Jazz increased (45-25).
Utah Jazz shot percentage was excellent at 73.7% and the scored more in the paint. But like Jazz against the Suns, the Hornets are missing star guard Chris Paul and might not able to make it to playoffs. Chris Paul missed 25 games already because if left knee injury.
I hope Utah Jazz wins in the upcoming games, next match will be Boston Celtics vs. Utah Jazz on March 22, 2010.
Utah Jazz vs Minnesota Timberwolves Game Result March 17, 2010

Don't touch Kyle Korver, he's hot!
Well, guess what? My prediction was correct as Utah Jazz wins against Minnesota Timberwolves and the Final Score 122-100 in favor of the Utah Jazz.
The Jazz dominate almost every quarter, 1st quarter the scores were tied. From 2nd quarter to the last quarter Jazz dominates. 26-17, 35-30,35-27 respectively.
Kyle Korver was wonderful, contributed well with 20 points with 3 out of 4 3-point shots. He was cool coming off the bench. AK-47 was back as I hoped for! Finally saw Andrei Kirilenko played, although he played for 16 minutes but it’s worth it. Like I said, the Timberwolves match is a good practice for him. Still with injury, AK contributed 9 points. Wow!
I know Jerry Sloan will put the bench players to game, like I said this match will be easily won. I’m now saying that they should take them lightly, like what Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams said “From now on we won’t take any lightly”.
Paul Millsap with 21 points and 11-wow-rebounds,
Deron Williams still contributing those friendly assists, he got 11 that’s why Deron Williams is in the top 3 of the League Leaders for Asissts.
Memo with his usual scores, he got 14 tonight and Wesley Matthews with 10 points. CJ Miles didn’t contribute match today, he got 8 points.
With 19,851 fans watching the Utah Jazz inside EnergySolutions Arena, I know this will be a tough situation for Minnesota Timberwolves.
Final Team Scores:
UTA (122)
MIN (100)
Team Standings:
MIN (14-54)
UTA (43-24)
The Jazz will be facing Phoenix Suns in US Airways Center, Phoenix Arizona on Friday, March 19, 2010 which the Minnesota Timberwolves falls off too last Tuesday., March 16, 2010.

Game Preview : Minnesota Timberwolves vs Utah Jazz March 17, 2010
We all know Andrei Kirilenko is still injured, and I’ve been looking everywhere for info if he’ll be able to play against the Timberwolves tonight. Who wouldn’t miss AK?
AK have been one of the powerhouse in the paint, and I hope to see him play tonight as the Timberwolves will be a good practice from him. And who wouldn’t agree with me that the just will win tonight.

Minnesota Timberwolves’ team standing is horrible this season (14-54), considering they will be playing against our Jazz on our home court (EnergySolutions Arena Salt Lake City, Utah). I’m expecting already for the Utah Jazz’s team standing (43-24) will move asap to (44-24) this NBA Season 2010. The Jazz already made it a goal to get a cool spot for the Western Conference. I’ve already predicted this that Minnesota Timberwolves will lose to Phoenix Suns yesterday March 16, 2010. Phoenix Suns dominated the game 152 – 114 to beat Minnesota Timberwolves who is on a road trip for quite some time now.
Minnesota Timberwolves won’t be returning home after they play against our Jazz tonight and Timberwolves will be playing against LA Lakers in their home court as well. Minnesota Timberwolves will be at home playing against Toronto Raptors on March 22, 2010.
AK-47’s Trade Demand: Updates and possibilities
by jazzer on September 19, 2007
in NBA Season, Shums
McSean hit this story late last night in his post. I heard about it too but wanted to wait until the media picked up the story to verify its legitimacy. Well, it seems pretty legitimate now. Ross Siler of the Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that this blog post (translated into English by the Trib here) was indeed written by Andrei Kirilenko, and that his demands are real.
So what do the Jazz do? The organization hasn’t yet responded to Andrei’s remarks, except to say that they expect him in camp on October 1. It’s entirely possible that the Jazz will sit Andrei on the bench all year rather than make a move. (Hey, my “move Andrei to the second unit” post doesn’t look so ridiculous now!)
On the other hand, if they comply with AK’s request, there’s a major problem: every single NBA team now knows they have the Jazz over a barrel. By making the request public, AK has guaranteed that the Jazz will not get market value in return for him, even though that market value has risen slightly with his EuroBasket performance. Kirilenko was once an All-Star caliber player, and perhaps can be again. But he has decided not to be one with the Jazz, and the Jazz can’t expect an All-Star level player in return.
And even if they managed to get one (like, for example, Shawn Marion, or Antawn Jamison), this team basically already has three All-Stars. Who’s to say they wouldn’t be just as frustrated as Kirilenko is now? I mean, Shawn Marion plays with Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns, and he wants to see more of the ball. That team shares the ball more than anyone. You think it’s going to be better for him in Utah? At some point, there’s simply not enough ball to go around.
Here’s the other issue: Looming in the not-so-distant future is the re-signing of Deron Williams, and a year after that, Carlos Boozer, and a year after that, Mehmet Okur. This means the Jazz are going to need a whole heap of cash at the ready if they want to keep this core together (which they do, and rightly so, because they’re young and talented and play beautifully together). This might be a blessing in disguise, to get Andrei’s contract off the books and find some useful, less expensive role players to fill his spot. Except that, to trade an expensive contract, you have to take on an expensive contract in return. There’s also the dreaded luxury tax to consider, which Larry Miller will never, ever pay.
The answer may be to find a willing trading partner who’s got a fat expiring contract to offer, along with draft picks and role players. ESPN’s Trade Machine will be an invaluable tool in crafting possible deals. One that I’m looking at now is to send Andrei to Minnesota for Theo Ratliff’s expiring contract, a couple of players like Ryan Gomes or Craig Smith, and a draft pick. (The deal doesn’t work on the Machine now because of 2-month trade restrictions on Ratliff and Gomes, but those will lift.) At first glance, that looks awful — a former and potential All-Star for two marginal players and a 35-year-old, injury-prone shot blocker? — but when you realize that it will save the Jazz almost $12 million, money they can use in re-signing the stars they have and perhaps attracting more, it doesn’t seem so awful.
The point is this: if the Jazz do decide to comply with Andrei’s trade demand, they have to know they’re not going to get more than 30 or 40 cents on the dollar for him. This current team was built on solid draft picks (Williams, Millsap, Collins, Brewer, Almond, Fesenko) and free-agent signings (Boozer, Okur, Harpring, Giricek). I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing for the Jazz to put themselves in a position to get more of both. I’m less concerned about what we get in the trade itself and more concerned with what the result will be. Let’s bite the bullet and take our cap space and our role players and bid Andrei farewell. At this point, regardless of whose fault this mess is, it might be the best thing for everyone.
