At what point is Jerry Sloan going to realize that Derek Fisher is a back up point guard, not a starting two guard. I don’t care if they told him before he came here that he would get 20-25 minutes a night, we can’t have our starting two guard and a guy that plays nearly 30 minutes a night shooting 33% from the field and 20% from the three point line. Yes these are his numbers over the last month! Not to mention that he’s guarding guys that are 6-7 inches taller than he is. Don’t get me wrong he’s doing his best on these bigger guys but there is only so much he can do. Brewer or Giricek need to be starting and Fisher needs to become a back up point guard and an occasional two guard for teams that play small ball. He just isn’t getting it done, his season numbers are 38% from the field and less than 30% from the three point line. During this current five game losing streak, he has shot 17 of 57 from the field and 2 for 18 from the three-point line. That is just the kind of production we need from our starting two guard and “veteran leader†during the most crucial stretch of the season. Please coach Sloan for the love of all that is holy get Derek Fisher out of the starting line up!
NEWSFLASH!!!! Derek Fisher is a backup point guard
