The Jazz were so good tonight that they made the Nuggets look absolutely silly. I actually think it was a combination of the Jazz looking great and the Nuggets just being in total dissaray. It is getting so bad in the Mile High City, that I would not be surprised if they don’t make the playoffs.
The most impressive part of the Denver game…Deron Williams. I have been singing his praises all year, but I don’t think even I realize how good this guy is. He sits for one game and the Jazz lose to Portland. Their offense was completely inept and they looked like the Jazz of two seasons ago. But he was back tonight and everything clicked.
Lets remember, the Jazz were on the road, against their chief competition for the Northwest Division championship. Coming out of halftime the Jazz had both Memo and Kirilenko on the bench nursing injuries and Boozer was only going to play a handful of minutes. With only a four point lead, D-Will put the team on his back, controlled the tempo and burried the home team. It was incredible to watch.
Does anyone still think that the Jazz made a mistake by drafting Williams over Paul?
Silence.

How great was it to see this lineup:
PG: Deron Williams
SG: CJ Miles
SF: Ronnie Brewer
PF: Paul Milsap
C: Araujo
They were only on the court like this briefly, but they were athletic.

I may be going crazy, but I have to ask why CJ Miles has been in Idaho for the last six years? He is 6′6″, has long arms and is athletic enough to stay with people on defense. Just as importantly, he can really shoot and when Kirilenko is on the floor, you need to have shooters.
I must be missing something, but I really don’t think it is a coincidence that the Jazz were 11-1 with CJ Miles in the starting lineup.

Couple of thoughts about last nights game.
Deron Williams is the MVP of Jazz this season.
Carmelo Anthony once again proves that he is not a winner. In arguably the biggest game of the Nuggets season. He picks up two stupid fouls in a row and winds up on the bench for the majority of the second half. He may be a scorer, but he is not a winner.
The Jazz are also on the verge of absolutely blowing up!!! All of the pieces are falling into place for a real run. I know that people wanted a two guard but Giri, CJ and Ronnie did a great job last night and I think are capable of giving the Jazz what they need at that spot if Jerry will let them. Hopefully AK is okay and if he is watch out for a serious push to overtake PHX.

LAst night was bliss for any Jazz fan, we were confident, collected and led by a future superstar! I cannot say enough about Deron Williams, the man is amazing, and we really need to give it up to our scouts and Kevin O connner for seeing past paul to the potential of this “true” Point guard.
What i hope Jerry learned from this, as well as the rest of the team, is that we don’t need a star, we played so well between our starters adn our bench, we were last night the defenition of what a team should be. Get out on the floor and do what you do best. Hats off to Arujo! he was sooo good, and fun to watch, hustling on the ball, looking to pass, looking to rebound, looking to make a difference for his team. It was as if the Jazz were playing for the tradition of this franchise, like they were proud to be part of utah. Maybe it was just because of the rivalry, but if we could play with this sense of pride every night, there isn’t a team in the NBA that could stop us. (including Dallas)
