Playing without Deron Williams for the second time in three games, the Jazz gave away a game they could have easily won. Deron has established himself far and away as the leader of this franchise. When he is not on the court, the Jazz look almost hopeless.

Jazz Dominate

The Jazz were so good tonight that they made the Nuggets look absolutely silly. I actually think it was a combination of the Jazz looking great and the Nuggets just being in total dissaray. It is getting so bad in the Mile High City, that I would not be surprised if they don’t make the playoffs.

Yay! The Utah Jazz are now contenders for the NBA title. Well, not exactly, but at least they showed they weren’t reluctant in pulling the trigger on a trade. Where’s are shooting guard we need?

Jazz are Poised for Run

The Jazz are back in action tonight against the Trailblazers in Portland for their first game in almost one week. I think the game tonight will be more difficult than many anticipate, and the Jazz may lose (see below). That being said, I think the Jazz are poised to make a big run in these last 30 games as they gear up toward the playoffs.

I have said it here before, but I look for the Jazz to challenge Phoenix for the second seed in the West. They are now only four games back and with some inspired play, could put themselves into true title contention. They need to play their best ball for this to happen and I think several factors make this a real possibility.

Memo for MVP?

Okay, he may not have originally been chosen as an NBA All-Star, but Mehmet Okur has definitely scored some clutch buckets while leading the Jazz to the third-best record in the league. Is Okur more valuable to the team than Boozer or Williams? It’s hard to say, but Okur has won several games in the closing minutes of games.
