What do Jazz do?

Boozer is out for a month. That sucks. But it does make things interesting for the team during his time off. They can use this time to develop in other areas and really grow as a team.

The big question I have during this time off is what Sloan is going to do with the lineup. Against New Jersey on Monday, Sloan started Collins at center and moved Memo to the 4. My only thought is “what in the Hell is he thinking?” To the rest of the league, Jarron Collins is an afterthought, he would never, ever – never, ever, ever start on another team. I think its nuts. Aren’t there better options? Don’t we have a Mr. Everything PF in rookie Paul Milsap?

Perhaps more importantly, and maybe I am wrong, but I see this as a huge opportunity to see what Kirilenko can do at what I view as his natural position, power forward. I could actually see the Jazz making a run as other teams have to find a way to adjust to that athletic front court.

I just don’t understand Sloan on this. I think he is so set on Kirilenko playing the 3 that he does not even notice what he has on his hands. We will see what happens tonight, but I would bet anything that Collins is starting tonight when the Jazz host the Spurs.

In another franchise, this would be the sign to pull a knee-jerk trade for Pau Gasol immediately to stay in the race. I’m thankful Larry Miller and Sloan are more patient. The Jazz will likely lose their next three tough games, and fall from first place in the division, but this team isn’t built for this season. The fifth seed, as opposed to the third seed, wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing for a developing and growing young team. Remember the Mavericks and Kings of the late 1990s learned to win on the road before they became the creme de la creme of the West.

Kirilenko and Millsap would both be solid options to start at power forward. If Sloan changes the lineup and takes out Collins, he could move Kirilenko and start Harpring. In my opinion, the Jazz need Millsap as a spark off the bench.

MOve AK to PF, Start Ronnie Brewer! Let Harpring and Millsap continue off the bench. Brewer already showed up in place of AK once, and lit the spark to beat the Nuggets. Now is the time for sloan to see why Brewer is going to one day be a starter. I guarantee Brewer will fill the role very well!
Starting 5… D. Will, D. Fish, Ronnie B, AK, and MEMo

Calling for the Jazz to play Brewer is like yelling at the sun for being hot in the summertime. Kick and scream all you want, it ain’t gonna change anything.

Well do you agree that they should play Brewer, or no? What is your opinion about Ronnie?

I believe Ronnie Brewer should play. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe in opening your presents Christmas Day rather than Christmas Eve. I believe there should be a congressional amendment bannign Astroturf and the designated hitter.
