Jazz Lose to Charlotte
Kevin, Make it Happen
Since my post about the Jazz trading for Corey Maggette of the Clippers, he has been all over the news. Apparently, he has asked for a trade and the Clippers are trying to make it happen. I recognize that I am off in my corner of the blogosphere, but I can’t see a good reason why the Jazz wouldn’t try to get a deal done.
Chris Sheridan of ESPN.com spoke of the possibility of seeing Maggette in a Jazz uni during his on-line chat.
Bobcats…Poor Man’s Utah Jazz
Looking at the way these two teams are constructed, it is hard not to see the similarities. The big difference is that the Jazz are better at every position. This is how they have built their teams:
Memot Keys Jazz Comeback!
Just when it was starting to look really, really ugly Memot Okur steps up and brings the Jazz back from a 21 point forth quarter deficit. The Jazz needed this victory in the worse way and Memot was the real key. He was so hot that he had to blow his fingers to cool them off. If you missed it, just know it was classic.
Watching that forth quarter reminded me of just how good this Jazz team can be. It was no fluke that the Jazz started the season 12-1. That being said, it is also no fluke that the Jazz have gone 7-6 since. This game reminded me how great they can be, but it also showed just how fragile they are.
Jazz Must Bounce Back
The Jazz are 6-6 in their last 12 games. They have lost to some very mediocre opponents and have really hurt themselves in the Conference standings. The encouraging thing through all of this is that the biggest issue the Jazz have had during this stretch is learning how to hold onto a lead.
This should not be a big surprise. The Jazz have struggled to play four quarters all year. In the beginning, they were having to come back from huge deficits. Now, they are getting huge leads and allowing the opposition to come back. The similarities between the first 13 games and the last 12? They are not playing four quarters. The difference? They are now losing.
