Memot Keys Jazz Comeback!

Just when it was starting to look really, really ugly Memot Okur steps up and brings the Jazz back from a 21 point forth quarter deficit. The Jazz needed this victory in the worse way and Memot was the real key. He was so hot that he had to blow his fingers to cool them off. If you missed it, just know it was classic.

The Jazz are 6-6 in their last 12 games. They have lost to some very mediocre opponents and have really hurt themselves in the Conference standings. The encouraging thing through all of this is that the biggest issue the Jazz have had during this stretch is learning how to hold onto a lead.

Iverson to Denver is a big trade. As a fan of the NBA I am excited to see how this all plays out. Iverson has been my favorite non-Jazz player for years and this puts him in a better position to win a championship than ever before. Despite his problems, which are many, the guy is the ultimate competitor and brings his full effort every night. This also means that I have the opportunity to see him in person twice a year, instead of only once.

With all of that said, I have a lot of mixed opinions on this trade. Lets face it, for all of Iverson’s personal greatness, he has not ever proven that he can make his teammates better, and therefore is a risky acquisition for any team. Which begs the question, is Denver really this desperate? This trade has the potential to get them to the championship, but it has a more likely potential to drag them into chaos.
